The Paid Search Manager oversees paid search campaigns (Google and Bing) for major and well-recognized national brands.  This position is for the individual who knows paid search engine marketing and optimization inside and out. He or she must want to complete search campaigns from conception to the very end – and then be evaluated based on the actual results of those campaigns. In addition, the selected individual must be able to work with both sophisticated and unsophisticated clients directly and in a professional manner to help educate them on the pros and cons of various search strategies and tactics. The Search Manager may also be responsible for helping grow and train the search staff.

Paid Search Manager Responsibilities

  • Develop paid search campaigns, including setting strategies and testing protocols
  • Plan, execute, and report results for PPC/CPC campaigns
  • Monitor the progress of PPC/CPC campaigns with a bid management tool
  • Generate weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly campaign performance reports for clients
  • Work with media planners and buyers to maximize possible synergies between display advertising campaigns and search campaigns
  • Meets deadlines for updating campaigns for optimizations and product/service promotions
  • Be the point of contact with search engine representatives
  • Provide POVs for new search engine advertising initiatives and on an ad hoc basis in response to questions from internal teams and clients
  • Maintain a consultant- and/or expert-level understanding of search industry trends and changes
  • Provide support to new business efforts by contributing to the collection of data, conducting market research, and/or providing insights to other agency personnel
  • Create and manage client and industry benchmarks for search marketing performance
  • Create and deliver analytics reports for search clients on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and/or ad hoc basis
  • Make campaign optimization recommendations to search clients and account teams
  • Present campaign performance reports to search clients and answer questions competently and professionally

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree plus 4+ years of work experience in interactive marketing and/or e-commerce, including extensive experience with major paid search networks and bid management tools
  • Experience monitoring, analyzing, and communicating campaign results
  • Experience formulating and making recommendations on paid search (PPC/CPC) campaigns for large corporate clients
  • Experience executing, monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing paid search (PPC/CPC)
  • Experience managing paid search budgets and spending on the client side and billing on the search engine side
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software packages
  • Competency in a bid management tool such as Kenshoo, Marin, etc.
  • Competency in major search engine management tools such as AdWords, etc.

The Paid Search Analyst provides specialized expertise in search engine marketing analysis while executing search campaigns from conception to the very end. These campaigns are then evaluated based on their actual results. The Paid Search Analyst examines the account performance on a daily basis, making optimizations in real time, based on current and past performance.  The Paid Search Analyst must utilize their own judgment when making a majority of optimizations.  These decisions will significantly impact the success of the clients’ campaigns.

PAID SEARCH ANALYST RESPONSBILITIES

  • Manages paid search campaigns on designated search engines, including keyword generation and expansion, negative matching, ad copy testing, bid management, and budget management
  • Creates, implements, tracks, analyzes and optimizes paid search campaigns at a keyword-level, making critical decisions in real time
  • Actively tests and analyzes keywords and copy to meet ROI targets and drive incremental volume
  • Works in collaboration with analytics team to optimize keyword performance
  • Collaborates with other team members to replicate best practices and key learnings across designated search engines; trains other team members on unique findings
  • Autonomously formulates and makes recommendations on paid search (PPC/CPC)
  • Executes, monitors, analyzes, and optimizes paid search (PPC/ CPC) campaigns on a daily basis
  • Partners with other internal departments, including creative, accounting, technology, and project management and external partners such as web publishers to ensure effective coordination and execution of PPC/CPC campaigns
  • Exhibits a keen understanding of search industry trends and changes
  • Produces professional work products on time and on budget
  • Ensures and is responsible for all client data and reports being confidential and secure

QUALFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or related professional discipline
  • 3+ years of work experience in interactive/digital marketing or e-commerce environment, preferably in a fast-paced advertising agency
  • Experience monitoring, analyzing and communicating campaign results (must be able to prepare for and present findings)
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working within a team.
  • Above-average proficiency in Microsoft Office software package required
  • Competency in a bid management tools Atlas and DART required
  • Experience with major search engine management tools required (ex: AdWords, etc.)

Position Overview

Standing Dog LLC, a progressive and fast growing Interactive Marketing Agency based in Dallas, TX, is currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of SEO Specialist. Standing Dog Interactive is a full-service Internet marketing agency that provides our clients with a range of services such as website design, development, SEO, SEM, and other online media.

This individual will be responsible for working with our existing Search Engine Optimization team and with applicable account managers to provide strategic SEO services for our clients. Success metrics will be based on growth in overall qualified organic traffic for client sites and in some instances on ranking of specific keyword phrases. Client ROI will also be considered as a performance indicator. This position would be ideal for someone with prior Search Engine Optimization experience.
