Scott Monty offers DFWSEM and Social Media Dallas a guide to crisis communications
Hold onto your deerstalkers, folks. I Hear of Sherlock Everywhere podcaster, pioneer corporate social media visionary and Digital Strategy Consultant Scott Monty is coming to Dallas. Scott will be appearing at a joint meeting of DFWSEM and Social Media Dallas on Wednesday, July 8 at NOAH’s Event Center in Richardson.
If there’s anyone who understands how to nip a crisis in the bud, it’s Scott Monty. He initiated and led Ford’s social media practice, including crisis communications and blogger relations. Ranked by The Economist as one of the top 5 of the 25 Social Business Leaders and by Forbes as one of the top 10 influencers in social media, he’s also an American Marketing Association board member. And he’s been a featured keynote speaker everywhere from the New Media Expo to Social Media Week.
Scott will be presenting Digital Crisis Communications: A Survival Guide, to help you brace for the wide-ranging effects of a crisis in the Internet era. As he puts it, “Crises can happen to any business at any time, through circumstances that are within their purview or beyond their control. Certainly in the digital era, a crisis can spread farther and wider than ever before, making the effort feel like fighting a raging forest fire with a squirt gun.”
Fortunately, your business can prepare for and handle any sort of fallout from a misstep, and Scott will discuss:
- How it’s been done before: case studies of digital crisis communication
- Mistakes to avoid as you navigate the crisis
- Which assets are the most important to have at hand when you need them
