Beyond Marketing: Data, Decision Making, and the Future of Search

A veteran of more than 100 speaking appearances, he is perhaps best remembered for his appearance at TEDxUtrecht

A veteran of more than 100 speaking appearances, Matt Wallaert is perhaps best remembered for his appearance at TEDxUtrecht where he explored the concept of “motivating to do work worth doing”

BREAKING NEWS: April 8 is Boot Night at DFWSEM

As Search engine marketers we are trained to think of the funnel and moving people from clicks to actions. But what happens in a world where AI and ML make the idea of clicking less prevalent? At this month’s DFWSEM meeting, Behavioral scientist Matt Wallaert will help us better understand the changing face of web-based interactions and how the science of user experience and behavior is affected.
Be prepared to see your relationship with your site visitors in a completely new way as Matt talks about the value of exposing data a user will never see, the growing problem of decision overload, and how technology is changing the way we choose.

If you’re thinking you may not be ready for the depth of content offered in Matt’s presentation, think again. As he leads us into this exciting new world where technology is shaped to provide more fulfilling and pleasurable experiences for users, Matt will show you how to develop a basic mental model of decision making.

Next, he uncovers the key to creating user experiences that will touch your users as he helps us understand the connection between non-user data and decision making Artificial Intelligence. Whether your business is simple or complex, your product offering is small or extensive, understanding how to shape user behavior for greater benefit will open your eyes to a world of new possibilities for your business.

Understanding is one thing, taking action to make the most of new opportunities is another. This is where Matt brings everything together to send you back to the office with a new approach to optimizing your website content for a Metalanguage-to-AI world.

We are so excited to have Matt bring this cutting edge presentation to our members at DFWSEM. This is the kind of content that will put you out in front of your non-DFWSEM industry peers. If you want to be ahead of the game, Register now to see Matt Wallaert in April.

Don’t come alone. We want you to share this rare opportunity with as many of your colleagues and friends as possible. Non-members attending DFWSEM for the first time can register for free with the code lessclicks. We hope everyone will take up this opportunity to hear Matt speak in Dallas.

Register now to secure your ticket and join us at NOAH’S Event Center on April 8th. Meet and Greet starts with check-in and a free drink ticket at 6.00pm. Be sure to join us after the presentation for networking, light supper and another free drink!

14 Science-Based Ways to Convert More Customers

Are you making the conversion-killing mistake of using only features, benefits, and pricing to convince your customers to buy? If so, you are reaching just 5% of your customer’s brain. In this info-packed session, Roger Dooley, author of the best-selling book Brainfluence, will show you how to use simple techniques to appeal to the 95% of your customer’s decision-making driven by non-conscious processes.

Roger has spent years studying brain behavior and how it influences customer engagement, purchase decisions, and the various other conversion streams you may be targeting for your business. Now he comes to DFWSEM ready to share his expertise. You’ll be fascinated as he demonstrates ways that using knowledge of how our brains work enables you to create better marketing, advertising, and sales strategies.

Roger Dooley at Raven Tools Poker Event

Roger Dooley at Raven Tools Poker Event

As you can see from the photo, Roger takes his poker seriously. Almost as seriously as he takes the influence of neuromarketing in business. As a leader in the field he has not only studied, but helped develop, test, and refine theories on the use of “brain science” for advertising and marketing.

Roger is a master of the science behind neuromarketing, but there’s no need to worry about being overwhelmed by theory in this presentation. His focus is always on real-world examples and practical applications.

As Roger shares 14 Science Based Ways to Convert More Customers, you’ll learn to look at your web site and conversion paths in entirely new ways. Come prepared for revelations as Roger uncovers the non-conscious processes you may never have imagined were influencing your online marketing efforts.

You’ll learn how to unlock these unseen barriers to conversion and put your business on the path to better results with neuromarketing.

We asked DFWSEM Ambassador Christine Churchill to tell us about this month’s guest speaker Roger Dooley. Here’s what she said:

A lot of marketers talk about getting inside the mind of the customer, Roger shows you how subliminal clues on the page can enhance or hurt your web page performance. Roger is one of the leaders in the new field of neuromarketing that studies the affect of marketing stimuli on consumers. You’ll never look at a web page the same.

We are very excited to have Roger as our guest speaker in February. This is a rare opportunity for DFWSEM members and friends to benefit from the expertise of a highly sought-after international speaker and consultant. Register now to secure your ticket and join us at our new meeting location on February 11th.

About Roger Dooley

Roger Dooley an international keynote speaker and consultant. He is the author of Brainfluence: 100 Ways to Persuade and Convince Consumers with Neuromarketing. His work is followed by tens of thousands every week as he writes the popular blog Neuromarketing as well as “Brainy Marketing” at Forbes.com. He is principal of marketing consultancy Dooley Direct, and co-founded College Confidential, the world’s largest college forum site.

Dooley Direct is based in Austin and was founded by Roger in 1995. The company’s roots are in digital marketing, but for the last decade their focus has been on applying brain and behavior research to improve marketing, sales, and leadership.

Kerry Dean presents at DFWSEM.

DFWSEM will play host in January to one of the most popular State of Search speakers to date. Kerry Dean wowed the Dallas conference crowd with his presentation “The Best SEO Advice That No One Will Give You.” On January 21st he makes his debut appearance at DFWSEM to talk about the State of SEO in 2015 and beyond.

Semantic search. Voice search. Machine Learning. These are some of the concepts dominating conversations about the future of search. For those working with websites built on outdated platforms these concepts and topics are no different than flying cars and teleportation.

How can we prepare for the future of SEO while still increasing organic traffic to modern or out-of-date websites? Kerry’s presentation will cover many fascinating and futuristic SEO ideas while also delivering strategies to help you get more out of your current sites.

About Kerry Dean

Kerry is Chief Traffic Officer at PMG, a full-time student of SEO who describes himself as both creative and a nerd. His #1 passion is teaching. Analytics, analysis, data visualization are some of the many things that make him love going to work every day.

As a child he took apart all of his electronic toys to see how the motors worked. Today, he does the same thing with websites. He loves to try new things just to see what will happen. Data is his best friend, and Imagination is his favorite tool.

Kerry is a TCU alum, has a BS in Economics, a Master’s in Education, and his goal is to learn something new every day. As long as that happens life for him is good.

They ranked #61 on the 2014 Inc 500 list and were #5 among advertising and marketing companies.

How to Build an SEO Campaign That Outsmarts, Outperforms, and Outlasts Google

Every two days, we create as much information as we have since the dawn of time to 2003.

Therefore, building a web presence is essential in today’s times, but comes with ever-increasing challenges:

  • Web users lack focus and are highly distractable.
  • Everyone is fighting for attention.
  • Google’s algorithms change hundreds of times per year, and their focus has heavily changed since their beginnings in 1998.

You need more than an ordinary website; you need an extraordinary website. Being extraordinary doesn’t mean finding and exploiting loopholes in Google’s search algorithm. It means creating a web presence that people love.

Stoney deGeyter, president of Pole Position Marketing, will discuss how to take your website from ordinary to extraordinary, how to provide value to your users, and how to create a Google-proof website.
