All-Star Team Will Lead Association Into the Future
DFWSEM held their annual board election on December 15th, 2014, to determine who would lead the organization for the next year and into its second decade of existence. I am privileged to have been elected as President and believe we have assembled the greatest leadership team in the history of the association.
Three board members who had been with us several years chose to step down: Sean Jackson, Christine Churchill, and Eric McGhearty. Their contribution to the association will be missed.
The surprise of the evening was an announcement by one of the DFWSEM founders, Bill Hartzer, that he would like to return to the board. Bill, who is in high demand with clients and speaking engagements around the country, was welcomed back enthusiastically just as soon as everyone in the room had picked their jaw up off the floor. We are honored he is on our team.
In addition to returning board members we added several new faces to the organization who show great promise: Jason Channell, Warren Lee, Bart Peters, Kelcey Piper, Tim Wagner, Damon Gochneaur, and Tory Smith.

New Board Positions
To honor our two elder statesmen the board took action to create a second Vice Chairman position and unanimously elected Dan Sturdivant and Bill Hartzer to fill these roles.
The VP of Membership responsibility was divided into two new positions: VP of Membership – responsible for recruiting new members and a liaison with our current members, and VP of Registration – responsible for handling all the details of getting everyone registered before a meeting, checked in at the meeting, and any necessary followup. Beth Kahlich was chosen to fill the membership role and Bart Peters was selected for registration.
Opportunities to Help
The Treasurer position will remain open until an interested person with the required skills is found in order to make sure that our finances are maintained at the highest level.
Our new VP of Communication, Kelcey Piper, will be fielding a team of volunteers to help manage the DFWSEM communication channels including website content, email, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+.
In January the board will be taking action to put together a team of people who will be tasked with creating the greatest State of Search Conference to date.
If you have interest in any of these areas and have a few hours a month to contribute then email us and we will get back to you ASAP.
Thanks
Thanks to Addison TreeHouse for so graciously hosting this meeting at their facility.
