Job Description

Seeking an experienced project manager who is well-versed in SEO and online marketing aspects/strategies. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Excellent English speaking & writing skills
  • Ability to write good keyword-rich titles and descriptions in order to coach staff members or contractors
  • A self-starter; ability to see the ‘global’ picture
  • Excellent scheduling and task-management skills
  • Solid understanding of on-page, off-page, back-linking, and various other SEO strategies
  • Ability to manage/coach team members positively and build successful working relationships

Will perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Plan out the client’s project life-cycle from beginning to end
  • Assign, manage, verify, and follow up on all tasks assigned to team members
  • Be available for questions via Skype, instant messenger, phone during regular working hours so project tasks are not delayed
  • Assist in systematizing company’s project management schedule to increase efficiency
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of development
  • Perform creation/submission tasks when necessary
  • Organize and/or attend status meetings weekly with COO and present successes/challenges,
  • Occasional travel will be required

Digital Manager - Search Engine Marketing

BASIC FUNCTION:
Manages the development and implementation of search marketing programs to engage customers, contribute to sales & profit goals, enhance the shopping experience, facilitate access to shopping and product information, and provide insights to boost JCP’s relevance to customers.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages and ensures quality search marketing analysis reports, and coordinates within the assigned digital marketing functions if required; identifies plans and improvements and or changes based on analysis to enhance JCP’s search advertising relevance to customers.

Manages the implementation of Enterprise-wide search marketing efforts to drive both in-store traffic and maximize online conversions, thus providing a clear differentiation between JCPenney and its competitors.

Ensures search marketing plans and programs are effectively coordinated and communicated within marketing and with other stakeholders (e.g., Merchandise, Planning & Allocation, Information Technology, Supply Chain, Stores, and Finance) to allow for successful implementation and execution.

Participates in the development of search strategies that will create a competitive advantage for JCPenney and add value to the customer’s shopping experience.

Studies and maintains an awareness of industry trends regarding search and mines Hitwise competitive data; recommends applications with potential to enhance JCPenney’s business model and the customer’s experience.

Identifies and communicates search opportunities and enhancements to ensure the JCPenney experience and functionality remains leading edge.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
Develops and maintains relationships with cross-functional groups across the Company and with suppliers to align digital efforts with business goals.

Collaborates with management at all levels throughout all areas of JCPenney on enhancement and functioning of Digital programs.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Education: College degree. Major in business, ecommerce, or marketing preferred.

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years experience managing search campaigns within search engine portals, with at least 6 years in digital and/or ecommerce.

Core Competencies: Communication and presentation skills, influencing, adaptive performance, drive for results, organizing and executing, leading people, problem solving, innovation, ability to excel with limited supervision

Manages the development and implementation of assigned programs in paid (SEM); ensures such work is of high quality and meets established business objectives; supervises assigned project associates in the planning and execution of projects and tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Partners with required team members to prepare the weekly property status report.
  • Meets, as needed, with product owners at each property along with the Reseller Engagement group to discuss the ongoing status of all advertisers within each property.
  • Escalates unresolved customer service or fulfillment issues to Director of Editorial Services and COO as needed to ensure reseller satisfaction.
  • Monitors program performance and fulfillment of all assign properties according to KPI’s for each customer.

  • Leads initial expectation setting calls with all new advertisers.
  • Creates and assigns tasks to editors to build or modify SEM campaigns.
  • Evaluates and assigns tasks to editors to adjust spending parameters to ensure fulfillment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A B.S. in Business, Marketing, Management or equivalent experience, is required.  An additional one to three years working experience in writing, editing, customer service or other advertising related activities is recommended.
